Health Programmes Co-ordinator - Hawke's Bay
About the Role
The Health Programmes Coordinator serves as a vital link between patients (whai ora) and therapists, ensuring that those referred through GP practices receive the care they need. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordination & Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact for whai ora, Talking Based Therapists (TBTs), Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs), and contracted providers.
- Address queries and facilitate seamless communication between all stakeholders.
- Process and manage second package of care requests.
- Referral Management & Scheduling:
- Triaging referrals via the Halcyon system, with clinical support from leaders in our mental health team.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for whai ora using our Team Booking System or text communication.
- Invoicing & Reporting:
- Submit invoices from contracted providers to the accounts team by the 6th of each month.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has outstanding people skills and a warm, professional phone manner.
- Is highly organized with exceptional scheduling and administrative abilities.
- Ideally, has experience working in the health sector or a similar environment.
- Understands or has a connection to Kaupapa Māori values and is culturally responsive, especially to the needs of Māori communities.
- Is comfortable with technology and eager to learn systems like Halcyon.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Full training and support to help you excel in this temporary role.
